Get a leg up with your art portfolio in this intensive one week workshop.
Designed for rising juniors and seniors who are looking to polish and add to their current art portfolios for college submission.This workshop is limited to just five selected students! You will recieve feedback on current portfolio work, thoughts on ways to improve, as well as guided lessons to create new work to add to your portfolio. This session is focused on observational drawing and painting, and will cover the application of color theory, measuring for proportions, and composition. We will wrap up with dedicated guidance on photographing artwork, so students can learn to document their portfolio in a professional manner for college submission.
Workshop dates are as follows:
One week sessions, June 3rd - 6th and June 10th - 13th Ask about joining the interest list for sessions the weeks of June 17th and June 24th.
We meet Mon. - Thurs. 8am - 3pm with a break for lunch.
Workshop Fee: $300 plus cost of materials
This workshop is designed to be completed in one week, but students are welcome to register for additional weeks at a discounted rate if desired.
Students will be asked to provide most of their own supplies. A list of necessary equipment and other class requirements will be provided upon registration. Students should bring lunch and a snack.
Camp takes place in Tustin near Foothill High School.
Rob Nichols
Rob is an artist and art educator. He received his MFA in painting at the Laguna College of Art and Design in 2015. Since then he has taught at Idyllwild Arts Academy, Art Division, and the Orange County School of the Arts. He currently teaches drawing and painting at an art college in Los Angeles, also serving on the portfolio review board and as an academic mentor. When not teaching or in the studio, he is a bedside volunteer in the oncology ward of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
